The recommended minimum hardware for Online Filing in network mode (server) is as follows:

• Pentium 4 -2.8 GHz or better
• 2 GB RAM or more
• 4 GB of available space on hard disk

Online Filing in stand-alone or network mode (server) can be installed on either

• (preferred for server mode) a server PC running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012
• (preferred for stand-alone mode) a PC running Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
• Requires the Arial Unicode MS (TTF) font for both stand-alone and server installation. This font is automatically installed with MS Office.

The client component of Online Filing can be installed on any of the Windows systems listed above.

Digital certificate of the person who will sign the application to be filed.

Applicants must be in possession of a digital DNI (Spanish ID number) or another certificate issued in compliance with ITU recommendation X.509.V3 (ISO/IEC 9594-8 of 1997 or later) by a certification service provider which supports advanced electronic signatures and is recognised by the Public Administration. EPO (www.epoline.org) and WIPO (www.wipo.int) certificates are also accepted.

Cryptographic smart card reader, only if your certificate has the required hardware (e.g. DNIe).

User registration for the patent e-filing service: once in possession of a digital certificate, applicants must also register as users of the patent e-filing service in order to ensure additional security.

Para garantizar el cumplimiento que los archivos PDFs sean conformes a la normativa sobre tipificación de envío y proceso de solicitudes por vía electrónica (Anexo F) se necesita que cumplan los siguientes criterios:

• Compatible con Adobe PDF 1.4
• Que tenga la fuente incluida (excepción: se aceptan fuentes de Base 14)
• Que no esté cifrado
• Que no tenga objetos incrustados (objetos OLE)
• Tamaño A4 (+-5%)
